We don’t need bee-killing pesticides to feed the world

For decades, agro-chemical corporations like Bayer have been trying to convince us that we need bee-killing neonicotinoids, and that humans simply can’t feed ourselves without them. A scathing UN report just called that story a complete “myth.” This report on pesticides is a bombshell. Its expert authors say in no uncertain terms: the “myth” that humans need any pesticides — not just neonics — to feed the world is being spread by the “unethical” practices of global corporations who consistently deny the science showing the harms of using these toxins to grow our food. According to the UN experts, science confirms that pesticides are likely making us sick. What’s more, corporations know this but do nothing about it. They… Read More

Praying for Global Warming

Just when we were promised a warm future, we get record cold. Winter Storm Ursa has become a crippling, destructive blizzard from the Texas panhandle to Nebraska, stranding vehicles, downing trees and power lines and whipping up snowdrifts up to 8 feet in one of the strongest snowstorms to slam this area so late in the spring. It is May 1, 2017; it should be a warm and glorious spring day! We need to pray for global warming because it offers us a comfortable alternative to a bitter cold that most of humanity is going to have a hard time surviving over the next few decades. Science has already weighed in with a mini ice age scenario starting now… Read More

A Professor’s Plan to Save the Earth: Refreeze the Arctic

Some say we can face the facts about climate change or go extinct. If you’ve looked at the facts and agree, there’s an astrophysics professor with a plan.  To understand why some feel this is urgent,  consider this experiment:  The temperature of the water in a pot on the stove with ice cubes in it doesn’t heat up much … until the ice melts, then it heats up very quickly. Without ice as a buffer, you get a runaway reaction, the water boils off. It’s not just the higher sea levels, hotter summers, stronger hurricanes or the food and water shortages that would make this urgent. The concern is extinction level changes like having our oxygen atmosphere evaporate into… Read More
